Sightseeing on Foot

Go up the steps in Taragarh Fort or down the staircases leading to the water tanks in Raniji ki Baori, traverse the massive expanse of manicured garden in Kshar Bagh, walk along the shores of Jait Sagar Lake…your legs will be sore after an entire day’s worth of walking and climbing!

Shopping for Souvenirs

Bundi for a local style of making miniature paintings called Bundi Kalam. These paintings form the basis for many decorative items that can be seen adorning the walls of colourful shops in Bundi. Shopping in Bundi also entails buying lac bangles (lac is a red coloured clay like substance produced by the lac insect, which after hardening becomes very durable), wooden toys, shawls called ‘Odhnis’, Kota Sarees and stone statuettes.

Boating

Bundi is known for some scintillating landscapes, including palaces on the shores of the Jait Sagar and Phool Sagar Lake. Imagine sitting languidly in a boat with your loved ones watching the silhouette of an ornate palace reflected in the clear surface of the lake, until the time you pass by right below the palace and truly get a feel of its enormity. It is that moment which leaves a lasting impression on you.

Trekking

The area around Bundi is known for some very captivating sightseeing locations, such as the Shikar Burj and the Keshav Rai Ji temple on the banks of the River Chambal. Trekking is one of the few physical activities in Bundi that you will thoroughly enjoy. Trek up gently rolling hills, walk down pathways threading through arid forest or just casually stroll through meadows and glades till you reach your destination.

Bathing

This must have aroused your curiosity quite a bit! Yes, there are some lovely locations in Bundi where you may decide to take a dip. Dams such as Baan Ganga and waterfalls such as the Bhimlat Mahadev are some exciting places where you can play in the water with your family and friends.
